Local businesses are a vital and integral part of the vibrant community in Enfield.
Building relationships between the local community and business leaders is key to creating a safe and thriving environment for local people and their families. We are keen to engage with local businesses that would like to help us to do this and who would also like to benefit from their engagement with local families and community settings.

Keeping young people safe and helping the most vulnerable young people within our community to move around safely is an important element in building community relations and strengthening understanding between age groups.

The Local Safeguarding Children Board, Enfield Police Safer Schools Team, Joint Service for Children with Disabilities and Enfield Children and Young Persons Services are therefore working in partnership to establish community help points throughout the whole of Enfield, where local businesses and community centres nominate themselves to act as emergency help points for young people in need of support or assistance to safely negotiate their journeys within the borough.

From our Launch sessions at ‘The Royal Chace Hotel’ & ‘The Radio Marathon Centre’ we have managed to engage with businesses / Libraries/Youth Centres etc to assist us in this scheme by displaying the logo in their windows and help children when they require assistance. Some of these businesses include major organisations such as Mc Donald’s.

We have provided training sessions to out clients which was very useful and informative. CHPS has also been highly publicised in the Independent, Advertiser and Gazette newspapers. It has gained a huge amount of exposure and has proven to be a successful scheme all across the borough. Many of the youths in and around Enfield have utilised the CHPS service and now feel safer when they go out on the streets of Enfield.

If you are a business, organisation or service provider and wish to be part of the scheme, please notify Claire Whetstone on 0208 373 2710 or Shaf Karim on 0208 373 2683
